Questions for the architect -BINA STUDIO - Bojan Pavlović, architect
Were there any specific requirements or features that influenced your decision to use this system in the project?
Of course. In addition to the building category itself and the established practice of using façade sandwich panels, our decision was significantly influenced by the speed of construction and the thickness of the façade walls, as well as meeting the energy performance requirements of the building envelope.
2. What is your opinion of working with Kingspan?
At the moment, as we are working on three different projects where Kingspan façade and roof panels will be installed, our opinion is very clear.
3. What was the vision or idea behind the design of the building?
Bina Studio focuses primarily on conceptual architecture, striving with each new project to create unique works that attract attention, mainly through their sculptural quality. This was also the case with the Morava 5 commercial and business building. Our vision was based on moving away from the typical box form associated with this type of building, which we achieved by shifting the floor plane.
4. Did the investor/owner set any specific expectations that influenced the final design?
We were very lucky to be given a free hand and complete freedom to follow our vision, all with the aim of drawing attention to the building and its content.
5. Did colour and coating play a role in the final design/product decision?
Yes, of course. Colours and coatings are very important for the final design.
6. Did you incorporate innovative or alternative materials into the project, and if so, why?
Yes. We used the RW QuadCore roof panel for the parapet on the flat roof because of its easy installation, low maintenance requirements and high performance.
